Hartlepool: Invest, Explore, Culture

We created three complimentary brands, whilst giving each their own unique identity.

We started by establishing a brand for Culture, Invest and Explore Hartlepool. They each have a colour palette of 5 colours, a set of unique icons and 2 complimentary fonts. The extensive brand assets ensures that Culture, Invest and Explore have distinctive identities and yet can be recognised as branches of the same initiative. The varied branding provides plenty of opportunities to be creative in marketing materials including the website design.

We created a central design for all three websites, adapting it to suit each brand.

We produced the brand guidelines to ensure that each website had a consistent identity throughout the website. Colour, fonts and branded icons ensure that Culture, Invest and Explore can be easily identified despite the similar layout. Design and functionality elements were added to each website depending on the specific requirements

Recently, Culture Hartlepool expanded to included an online shop. The e-commerce functionality allows members of the public to purchase works of art from the Hartlepool Art Gallery’s exhibitions and will grow further to include more of the crafts and gifts available to buy in the Gallery itself.

Explore Hartlepool benefited from additional icons to signify the main offerings of Active, Discover, Plan Your Visit and Culture. We used these as visual breadcrumbs starting from the homepage to demonstrate a user’s current location on the website. 

We introduced a news page to Invest Hartlepool for the Hartlepool Borough Council team to be able to update the public. The news area features the latest projects, facilities and services available to businesses in the area.

We continue to work with each brand in multiple capacities since creating their initial branding and websites.

We’ve created interactive, branded forms for Invest Hartlepool to streamline the process of grant applications and internal processes. We’ve also worked with the team to establish the Studio 3 brand for The BIS, designing and building its own area on the Invest Hartlepool website.

Explore Hartlepool have been the host to multiple events since its launch including Summer at Seaton. We worked with the team to establish Summer at Seaton including their brand identity, marketing materials and website page, which have been used in some form consistently since 2021. 

We designed two bi-fold leaflets to demonstrate the work of Invest Hartlepool and Explore Hartlepool. The leaflets incorporated both brand identities, a hand-drawn map and QR codes throughout for further information.
